Park looking good
A letter found in the Brownie Points section of the Melton Times.
I would like to congratulate the Town Estate on the condition of the Play Close Park.
When I first heard of the appeal to rejuvenate the parks I thought nothing would come of it.
But having spent most of Friday afternoon in the park I was amazed at what has happened - the bandstand looks lovely with a new wooden tiled roof, the bridge between the park and Leicester Road Sports Ground will improve access and looks very grand. Even the new play area has been taken into the hearts of the young children.
I will definately be spending more time in the park reading and writing. All that is needed now is to knock down the hideous pebble-dashed building next to where the new bridge has been erected.
