Jubilee Scented Garden

Senior Town Warden in the Jubilee Scented GardenGiven to the town by members of the local Round Table in 1977. Many of the original plants had died, so the area was completely cleared and a new planting scheme was designed. This included plants with fragrant flowers as well as evergreen plants with aromatic leaves, to give the garden all year round interest. Some of the species which were planted then have been included in the present scheme, rosemary, lavender, thyme and roses. Some new species have been added, Mexican orange blossom, mahonia and philadelphus, lemon balm and sage.
